Electric Fireplaces FAQ

What is an electric fireplace?

An electric fireplace is a fireplace that operates solely on electricity. The illusion of flames is generated by LED lights and mirrors, creating a realistic flame appearance.

Electric fires are straightforward to install and fit, requiring only electricity and minimal maintenance. Some electric fireplaces also include heating functionality and can be controlled remotely for added convenience.

How does an electric fireplace work?

An electric fireplace replicates the appearance of a genuine flame, with some models also providing heat. LED lights and a mirrored surface are used to create the illusion of flickering flames.

These fireplaces require only an electricity connection to operate and can be placed virtually anywhere you desire.

Want to know more about electric fireplaces, read the guide here.

What’s the running costs for an electric fireplace?

The cost of running an electric fireplace depends on several factors, including the model's power consumption, the electricity rate in your area, and also how often you use the fireplace. However, most electric fireplaces use between 1.5 to 2 kW per hour when running.

You can read more here about the running cost of an electric fireplace.

Does an electric fireplace create heat?

Certain electric fireplaces do generate heat, but this feature varies from model to model, and not all electric fires come equipped with a fan heater.

The product description of each fireplace will specify whether it includes a fan heater or not, with the heater typically situated at the top or front of the unit.

Even if an electric fireplace features a heat fan, you can still enjoy the flames without activating the heat function.

What types of electric fireplaces are there?

When considering the design and appearance of an electric fireplace, there are four main types available: wall-mounted electric fires, classic electric fires, freestanding electric fires, and built-in electric fires.

You can read more about the different types of electric fireplaces here and see all electric fires here.

Do you service electric fireplaces?

Yes, that's correct! We provide a 2-year warranty on products purchased from us. Therefore, if anything happens with the fireplace within this period, we offer service and repair.

However, if the fireplace was not purchased from us, we do not offer service or repair for the electric fireplace.
